Product descriptions
Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) are a group of water-soluble fibres.
There are 2 main types.
Alpha-GOS are found in some plant foods and are not particularly selective, unlike beta-GOS. A mixture of beta-GOSs with different structures is produced in breast milk in a specific proportion. Many beta-GOS are produced by an enzyme produced by a mould fungus or by a bacterium not found in breast milk. This is not a problem, but the result is a GOS mixture with a different structural ratio to that in breast milk.
We therefore use Bimuno® in our product, which is produced in exactly the same way as lactose is produced in breast milk, by enzymes from Bifidobacterium bifidum in the mammary glands. This produces a GOS mixture with the same structural ratio as breast milk. It has been mixed with the hypoallergenic bamboo fibre, which is barely fermentable, only for ease of handling and administration.
Suggested Use. It is best taken in the morning, on an empty stomach, but can be spread throughout the day. If you have not previously consumed the product, start with 1 gram, then increase the dose by half a gram every two days to reach 3 grams per day.
For those with milk and lactose intolerance, a daily dose of this product contains about the same amount of lactose as a tablespoon of milk and less milk protein than a drop of milk.
Ingredients. Bimuno is a blend of beta-galacto-oligosaccharides (derived from whey), micronised bamboo fibre.Do not exceed the recommended intake. The product is not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of the reach of children.
