Christmas gingerbread recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 kg flour
- 4 dl icing sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 4 tsp gingerbread spice mix
- pinch of salt
- 10 dkg butter
- 3 eggs
- 3 dl honey
- For the decoration:
- 1 egg white
- 6 tbsp granulated sugar
Preparation
Mix the dry ingredients, add the butter. Pour the honey into the centre, beat in the eggs and knead well. Flour the board generously. The dough should not be too soft or it will swell up in the oven.
On a well floured board, stretch the dough to a thickness of 2-3 mm. Cut out or cut out the shapes and place them on a greased baking tray, greased with butter.
Place in a preheated oven at 180°C and bake, being very careful not to burn, as it cooks very quickly. You don't need to reline the pan between bakes, just grease it a little if you think it's good.
When the gingerbread is baked and cooled, you can decorate it with the egg whites mixed with icing sugar until creamy.
