Cacao beans are a delicious superfood because they contain a wide range of antioxidants and other nutrients. Cacao beans produced by organic farmers in Peru contain more antioxidants than red wine and three times more than green tea. Cocoa beans are a rich source of minerals. The raw beans are hand-picked, the best quality ones are selected and fermented to reduce their initial bitterness. To make cocoa paste, they are ground and then the paste is melted to make it runny. The liquid is cooled and formed into slabs.
