Product descriptions

When making jam, our grandparents would stand for hours by the boiling, hot pot waiting for it to thicken and pour into jars. You can save time and energy by using more than just the pectin in the fruit to get the perfect jelly consistency. With Nature Cookta Special Pectin, you can also make temptingly tasty gummy candies in a variety of colours at home. Occurrence of pectin Pectin has been used for jam making for centuries, first recorded by Henri Bracconot in 1825. Fleshier fruits such as apples and pears also contain this valuable natural gelling agent. It can also be found in rosehips, carrots and the celery family. To achieve a better taste and texture, our ancestors added higher pectin content to jams made from low pectin fruits. The amount and structure of the heteropolysaccharide in the cell wall of land plants is determined by the variety, age and the part of the plant in which it is found. (The stronger parts of the plant contain more pectin.) The more mature the fruit, the lower the concentration, so the food industry uses pectin from sour apples most often, in addition to extracting it from citrus. It is widely used in the preparation of jams and marmalades. In bakery products it functions as a substitute for fats. It has also been discovered by the cosmetics industry for its stabilising properties. If you are a cigar smoker and want to patch up damaged tobacco leaves, this natural substance can also help.Pectin in the kitchenPectin is used every day for jelling, where it is used to bind water. It is a reliable, natural-based stabiliser in the kitchen that can improve the quality and shelf life of jams, jellies and marmalades. It can be used to make fantastic desserts. We recommend Nature Cookta Special Pectin especially for the production of gummi candies. Mix it with sweetener and water, then bring to the boil with lemon juice and coconut milk over a low heat, stirring constantly. Simmer for 5-6 minutes from boiling, then cool for a few minutes before pouring into moulds. Leave to stand until the jelly has thickened. The last step is to turn out of the moulds and cut into pieces. If you use a bonbon and ice cube mould, you will not only get a special taste, but also a special appearance. You can also use melted chocolate to make additive-free snuff. This special ingredient is also great for cake toppers, special desserts and ice creams. Pectin consumption is not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle and a varied, balanced diet. Contains: 100% citrus pectin Packing size: 80 grams
