Natur Tanya® Digestive Enzyme Complex is made with 10 fermented and plant enzymes, fortified with calcium. The digestive enzyme complex helps to support digestion, aiding the breakdown of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, fibre, lactose and gluten. Protease, peptidase, papain and bromelain are enzymes involved in the breakdown of proteins, lipase in the breakdown of fats, amylase in the breakdown of starch, cellulase in the breakdown of dietary fibre, invertase in the breakdown of sucrose, lactase in the breakdown of lactose, and prolyl oligopeptidase in the breakdown of gluten. Calcium contributes to the normal functioning of digestive enzymes.

DIGESTIVE ENZYME SUPPLEMENTATION
Digestive enzymes are protein molecules that catalyze the breakdown of large food molecules into smaller molecules to ENHANCE THEIR DIGESTION IN THE VEGETABLE BOWEL.
These are secreted by the salivary glands, the glands in the stomach, the pancreas and the glands in the small intestine. An exception to this is the enzyme cellulase, which helps to break down fibres, as the human body is not able to synthesise this enzyme.

HOW SHOULD DIGESTIVE ENZYMES BE INDICATED ON THE PACKAGING OF FOOD SUPPLEMENTS?
There are currently no rules on how to indicate the amount of digestive enzymes per daily dose on the packaging of food supplements.
