Product descriptions
Coconut blossom sugar, as the name suggests, is extracted from the coconut palm flower using a method that allows not only the sugar but also the vitamins and minerals in the nectar to remain in the product.
As with cane and beet sugar, coconut blossom sugar is mainly sucrose, so its energy content is the same. It is not recommended for diabetics or dieters.
It does contain some important vitamins and minerals, but as these are present in small amounts and it is not recommended or possible to consume enough coconut blossom sugar to meet any recommended daily intake of these nutrients, coconut blossom sugar cannot be considered particularly healthy. However, the fact is that if we are already consuming sugar, it provides a healthier and more natural alternative.
The unique, slightly molasses-like taste and smell of coconut blossom sugar makes everything, even the most ordinary tea, a special treat.
As it can be easily caramelised, it is highly recommended for this purpose, for example to make caramel apples.
